STAGE DESJARDINS

This stage presents many difficulties to the competitors. Following the start in St-Roch-de-Mékinac towards Shawinigan, the paddlers have a tough portage in St-Georges-de-Champlain to go over the Hydro Québec genarating station. A second one is necessary to cross the Rapides-des-Hêtres, and finally, a last and most spectacular portage on the St-Maurice Voulevard in Shawinigan, where thousands of spectators await their favorite teams. The paddlers, in spite of tiredness, are litteraly acclaimed by the holas of the crowd. Spectators shout their bravos! to those athletes which, by their determination and courage give them the most gigantic show.
